Ladies and gentlemen,

 

First of all, please allow us, on behalf of the organization committee of this Symposium to express our warm welcome to scientists, entrepreneurs, government officials, and journalists from home and abroad.

 

The 5th Pan Pacific Conference on Pesticide Science (PPCPS) had been scheduled for July 8-12, 2012 in Tsukuba, Japan, however, due to the problems in Japan related to the Tsunamai and the nuclear power plant problem in Fukushima , It is combined with the "4th International Symposium on Pesticides and Environmental Safety and 8th International Workshop on Crop Protection Chemistry and Regulatory Harmonization".

 

This Symposium is jointly held by Beijing Pesticide Society (BPS), International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), Pesticide Science Society of Japan (PSSJ), Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture, China (ICAMA) and China Agricultural University (CAU). The agenda of this Symposium will mainly cover areas such as pesticide synthesis, pesticide quality, environmental safety, pesticide management, pesticide application, pesticide regulations. This Symposium is the largest of this kind of international symposium ever held in China. Through symposium reports, seminars on special topics, and discussions, we can promote the understanding and strengthen friendship between people of this same occupation in addition to academic exchanges.

 

Here present at this Symposium are more than 800 people coming from many countries in the world. Some representatives from well known pesticide enterprises are also invited.

 

This Symposium has got support from many enterprises and organizations at home and abroad. For special thanks, we have particularly made a pamphlet in which their names are listed.

 

Many of our colleagues have made great contributions for the preparation of this Symposium in addition to completing their daily work. They’ve done an excellent job. Here we’d like to express our special thanks to them.
